Air China beefing up LA-Beijing schedule
Air China said it will add a third nonstop flight between Los Angeles and Beijing.
The flights will begin May 2, with four flights a week initially, and then move to daily service from July.
Boeing 777-300ER aircraft will operate on the route, which feature eight luxury suites in the ‘Forbidden Pavilion’ first-class section, 41 business sleeper seats and 259 seats in economy.
The extra service was hailed by LA mayor Mayor Eric Garcetti, who said inbound tourism from China has ‘quadrupled’ in four years.
"It puts us well on our way of meeting our goal of 50 million visitors a year by 2020 and creating more good jobs in the city of Los Angeles," Garcetti said.
Air China also flies out of San Francisco, New York, Washington, DC, Houston, Honolulu and Vancouver.
