Air India flight attendant injured after falling from aircraft

Air India is conducting an investigation after a flight attendant fell from an aircraft and suffered serious injuries.

Flight attendant Harsha Lobo, 53, fell on the tarmac while closing the exit door for departure in Mumbai Airport.

"In an unfortunate incident, one of our cabin crew, Harsha Lobo, fell down on the tarmac from the Boeing-777 aircraft door while closing it," the airline said in a statement.

It has opened an investigation into the incident.

The flight attendant suffered leg injuries, multiple fractures and chest and lower spine injuries, according to Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital.

The Delhi-bound flight was delayed 90 minutes after the accident.
