Air India inks SAF supply deal
Air India has teamed up with Indian Oil Corporation Limited for the supply of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The companies have signed a MoU which expands Air India’s green aviation portfolio.
AS Sahney, Chairman, Indian Oil said: “The signing of this MoU with Air India represents a strategic step in India’s transition to sustainable aviation.”
Air India is targeting 5% usage of blended SAF by 2030.
Campbell Wilson, CEO & Managing Director, Air India said: “Air India is committed to supporting the Government of India’s initiatives to promote sustainable development in the aviation sector and to further its own sustainability goals by 2050.”
Indian Oil is the first Indian company to receive ISCC CORSIA certification for SAF production at its Panipat Refinery.
