Gulf Air adds more temporary flights via Dammam, Saudi Arabia

Bahrain flight operations continue to be suspended due to the airspace closure as mandated by the Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority in the midst of the Gulf conflict. However, Bahrain national carrier Gulf Air continues to build up its temporary operations out of Dammam King Fahd International Airport in Saudi Arabia.

The airport is located 113 km from Manama, Bahrain capital, representing an hour and a half drive by car.

Gulf Air indicates that passengers can book their flights on Gulf Air’s temporary network from Dammam to Paris, Manila, Cairo, Casablanca, Chennai, Frankfurt, Nairobi, London, Mumbai, Bangkok, Istanbul, Athens, and Thiruvananthapuram.
Latest addition are Athens, effective April 14, 2026. Gulf air will offer 2 weekly flights in Airbus A321neo; Istanbul from April 11, 2026 with 2 weekly services in A321neo and Thiruvananthapuram from April 5, 2026 with 2 weekly A321neo.
The airline offers only daily services to four destinations : Chennai, London Heathrow, Manila and Mumbai. Bangkok, Casablanca, Nairobi and Paris benefit of three weekly services and Cairo of four weekly flights.
Gulf Air provides ground transportation between Bahrain and Dammam for passengers holding confirmed bookings on these flights. This includes Saudi transit visas to passengers traveling to and from Bahrain using Gulf Air-arranged ground transportation. For passengers traveling to Saudi Arabia as a final destination, they must hold a valid entry visa arranged independently.
Regular scheduled services will resume once the Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs confirms the safe reopening of the airspace.
