Air New Zealand names interim CEO
Air New Zealand has named chief financial officer Jeff McDowall as acting CEO ahead of current chief executive Christopher Luxon’s departure next month.
McDowall’s has held various roles at Air New Zealand including group general manager of corporate finance and group general manager commercial.
Prior to joining Air NZ he worked in a variety of industries in Asia, the UK and US.
McDowall’s CFO position will be taken by corporate finance GM Stephan Deschamps on an interim basis from September 26.
Air NZ chairman Tony Carter says the search for a new permanent CEO is progressing well but the new chief may not join until early 2020.
The airline said McDowall was not seeking the permanent appointment.
