Canada says it will put restrictions on the use of certain 5G cellular services during flights.
Canada’s Department of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development (ISED) says 5G can potentially interfere with radio altimeters, which is a crucial function for aircraft navigation systems.
Findings from a study say 5G services in the 3.45 -3.65 GHz band could pose dangers to radio altimeters.
The restrictions include 5G-free exclusion zones around 26 airports although indoor 5G operations would be permitted.
