Fliggy opens AI-powered travel bookings and developer tools

Wednesday, 01 Apr, 2026 0

Chinese online travel platform Fliggy, a subsidiary of Alibaba Group, has made rapid strides in AI-powered travel, unveiling two major initiatives: a new open-source travel skill for developers and the ability for users to book trips directly through an AI interface for the first time.

Fliggy’s new “flyai” skill is now available on ClawHub and GitHub. Covering the entire travel ecosystem -flights, hotels, attractions, ground transport, activities, flight passes, and hotel packages, flyai supports every stage of a trip, from planning to booking.

The skill integrates seamlessly with major Claw apps, including Kimi Claw, QClaw, MaxClaw, and ArkClaw, as well as agent platforms like QoderWork and Wukong.

Users don’t need a Fliggy account; flyai is plug-and-play, enabling instant access. Fliggy is also expanding availability through the app stores of Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, and Honor.

For developers, flyai opens new opportunities: creating themed travel packages, corporate travel management solutions covering transport, lodging, and dining, or lightweight consumer apps. All comes without building complex payment systems or algorithms from scratch.

AI-Powered Bookings Now Live

Beyond developer tools, Fliggy has rolled out AI-driven booking capabilities. Powered by Alibaba’s Qwen App, which processed more than 200 million AI-native shopping orders during China’s recent Spring Festival, the platform can now handle reservations for flights, trains, and attractions in addition to trip planning.

Spring Festival results were striking: overall AI bookings on Fliggy jumped 800%, with attraction tickets alone increasing more than 24-fold. Reportedly, Fliggy estimates that the conversion rates for flight, train, and attraction tickets now rival those of long-established online travel agencies (OTAs).

Consumers are moving from using AI just to search, to letting AI execute tasks for them,” said Dr. Alex Chen, Fliggy’s Chief Technology Officer. He highlighted that Qwen now integrates services across Alibaba’s ecosystem, including Taobao, Alipay, and Amap, letting users book travel via natural language while combining trips with shopping, food delivery, and entertainment.

Throughout 2025, Fliggy introduced AI solutions including the consumer travel assistant “AskMe” and a business-travel-focused AI tool from AliBtrip. European partners have already begun integrating these tools to cater to Chinese outbound travelers.
