AirAsia X warns customers of WhatsApp scam
AirAsia is once again being targeted by scammers.
The airline group has been hit the past with bogus promotions on social media and now it says it has discovered a scam via WhatsApp messaging.
AirAsia X customers have been messaged and asked to make a payment into an account which allegedly belongs to a credit management company.
"We strongly advise the public to disregard the message and not to share any confidential information with anyone through any messages or phone calls they receive claiming to be AirAsia X Berhad," the airline said.
"AirAsia X would like to reiterate that the company and its employees have absolutely no involvement with these fraudulent practices and do not make such solicitations."
It is warning customers of not only AirAsia X but also customers of other AirAsia affiliates.
It says it will not be held liable for any claims arising from these fraudulent practices.
For any customers in doubt is is advising they contact AirAsia via its social media channels.
"AirAsia X will not hesitate to take legal action against individuals or groups who purport to use the AirAsia X or Airasia brand fraudulently," it added.
