Airline launches probe after passenger flew to wrong city
Jet2 is investigating how a passenger travelling from Turkey to Glasgow ended up in Leeds-Bradford.
Stacey McGuinness, 27, from Dundee, was due to fly home from Dalaman in Turkey on Friday night, but landed in Yorkshire instead of Scotland.
She told the Daly Mail that a screen at Dalaman airport directed her to Gate 33, but when she arrived at the desk it said Leeds-Bradford, so she checked with staff and was told twice that it was the correct flight.
When the plane landed, Ms McGuinness met a Jet2 manager, who apologised for the mistake and called a taxi to take her on the five-hour journey to Dundee.
However, her luggage was missing for several days and she told the Daily Mail she wants compensation for the error, which left her "traumatised".
A Jet2 spokesperson said: "We are aware of Ms McGuinness’s experience and have offered our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
"A full investigation is underway; however security was never compromised as she was a ticketed passenger and both she and her luggage had completed all security checks."
