Airline winter schedules have fewer cuts
Airlines have made few cuts to their transatlantic schedules for this winter, signalling an improvement in the airline industry.
The UK’s regional airports will feel the brunt of the few cuts that have been made, such as Birmingham, which loses American Airlines’ flight between Birmingham and Chicago from 27 October.
Manchester and Glasgow are also losing flights, because United Airlines is suspending services from both airports to Toronto. A spokesperson told Travelmole that this was a regular seasonal change.
United is also cutting its daily services from Heathrow to Boston. Other changes at Heathrow include BA’s decision to axe its service to Charlotte.
In addition to losing many of BA’s transatlantic and African services to Heathrow, Gatwick will lose Delta’s fourth daily weekend flights to Atlanta, as the airline returns to its winter frequency of three flights per day.
