Airlines for America names new communications MD
Trade organization Airlines for America has appointed Alison McAfee as new managing director for communications.
McAfee has spent 15 years in airline and consumer PR and recently served as senior director of corporate communications at Hawaiian Airlines, leading the airline’s global media relations and internal communications.
Prior to Hawaiian she was spokesperson and manager of external communications based in New York for JetBlue.
"Alison is a skilled and highly respected communicator who brings a unique perspective on the industry to A4A," said Vaughn Jennings, A4A’s vice president, communications.
"Her extensive experience within the airline industry is vital to A4A’s mission to advocate on behalf of our members for policies that benefit the traveling public. She will make an excellent addition to A4A’s communications team and we look forward to welcoming her into her new role."
Before joining the airline industry McAfee worked as a publicist for NBC Sports and spent three years at agency Edelman Southwest, working with clients including Texas Tourism.
