Airlines match Delta Fare Increase and Passenger Charge
Delta Air Lines raised its first class and full coach fares in certain markets by $50 this week. Northwest Airlines announced it would match the increases; Continental Airlines will do so on competitive routes, while other airlines are likely to match the hike to offset cost of fuel increases.
Northwest also announced its plans to match Delta’s move to pass on fees levied by US airports which were previously absorbed by airlines, to passengers on applicable domestic itineraries.
