Airlines pull out of Peshawar after school massacre
Emirates and Etihad are among six airlines to have suspended flights to Peshawar in Pakistan following the Taliban massacre of 141 people, most of them children, at an army-run school in the city this week.
Reports also claim that crew working for the national airline PIA have also refused to fly to Peshawar following the attack.
Emirates and Etihad, both based in the United Arab Emirates, have suspended flights to city in the north of Pakistan with immediate effect.
"We can confirm that we are suspending our flights to Peshawar for operational reasons. This will take effect immediately until further notice," Emirates said in a statement.
The carrier confirmed it will continue services to other Pakistani destinations Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, and Sialkot.
Airlines are also believed to have relocated their employees to Islamabad following the attack, carried out by six militants.
