Alaska Air expands loyalty partnership with American Airlines
Alaska Airlines has announced a further expansion of its American Airlines partnership, offering Alaska’s frequent flyers more flights to earn points and lounge access.
Loyalty members can now accrue points on an additional 3,000 flights that are still currently flown under the US Airways brand.
These flights will be integrated into the American Airlines network in the fall when the American-US Airways merger is finally completed.
This will enable Alaska members to earn points to and from an additional 60 cities, the airline said.
The agreement also offers access to 54 American Airlines Admirals Club lounges worldwide from August 15.
"Our relationship with Alaska goes back more than 15 years and we continue to look for ways to work together to enhance the benefits for our customers, whether through access to clubs or new opportunities to earn and redeem miles," said American’s chief marketing officer Andrew Nocella.
Alaska last month announced a new frequent-flyer pact with Chinese carrier Hainan Airlines, offering reciprocal point accrual for both airlines’ frequent flyers.
