Albatross offers $30,000 incentive for agents
SYDNEY – Albatross Travel Group continues to confront the recession head on.
Managing director Euan Landsborough has flagged a $30,000 financial incentive package to assist agents enveloped by the global recession.
The company is offering four confirmed spaces on any of its scheduled tours – White Christmas, Anzac Commemorative or European Summer – as a prize with the winner to be drawn from agents who make a deposited booking on any Albatross tour before December 31.
The four spaces can be transferred partly or fully so that agents who use only two spaces can on-sell the other two and make 100 per cent commission on these.
Alternately, the winner can on-sell all four spaces and make an extra $30,000 in commission.
Landsborough said that an agent’s name would go into the draw once for every passenger booked meaning that an agent booking five clients would increase their chances of winning by five times.
He said that one bright spot in the deepening gloom affecting the industry was Albatross’ reaffirmed commitment to its policy of guaranteed departures.
“We are prepared to run groups at a loss if that is what it takes to maintain our perfect record of keeping faith with our clients who will then enjoy the bonus of travelling in a smaller, more exclusive group.â€
He said that recently announced European tour cancellations from some major operators were probably the first, early season batch and predicted more would follow.
