‘All In NYC’ campaign targets locals to power tourism recovery
New York City this week unveiled the ‘All In NYC’ campaign which it hopes will rekindle tourism.
It forms part of a roadmap to recovery from NYC & Company’s Coalition for NYC Hospitality & Tourism Recovery.
It also launched a Stay Well NYC Pledge to instil confidence that the five boroughs are safe, sanitized and social distancing.
The campaign rolls out in phases, namely Rise. Renew. Recover.
It begins with New Yorkers to get them out and explore and ‘connect safely with their city’
It will then target regional visitors and finally international tourists.
"Reengaging our civic spirit can be the start of demonstrating to the world that we New Yorkers are resilient and committed to being All In for the recovery of one of the City’s cornerstone industries," said NYC & Company board chairman Charles Flateman.
NYC & Company president and CEO Fred Dixon said: "This roadmap and revitalization campaign is a significant first step to rally New Yorkers to safely explore their city once again. Tourism recovery will be gradual but certain, and NYC & Company is All In on NYC."
The Stay Well NYC Pledge will show locals that ‘hospitality, tourism, arts, culture and entertainment sectors are aligned on best-in-class cleaning standards.’
It asks visitors to keep their distance from others, wear masks inside premises, and use hand sanitizer.
It also encourages the use of credit/debit or other contactless payment methods when possible.
