Amadeus expands hotel offering with more small and budget properties

Saturday, 07 Jun, 2007 0

Amadeus has added 5,000 hotels since last October to bring the number available to book by agents up to 75,000.

More than 3,000 properties in 800 locations in the UK are now available in the Amadeus system, with this number increasing as the GDS continues to add more content.

Amadeus signed a partnership agreement with JACOB Online recently, which added more than 200 independent hotels in the UK.

The company claims to have increased overall numbers of small, independent and budget accommodation connected to its system by 38% since last October.

Amadeus hospitality business group managing director Antoine Medawar said: “Small and budget hotels, which have traditionally not distributed through a distribution system such as ours, are often exactly the hotels which are most in demand by a lot of organisations.

“That is why we are working hard to add more and more of these properties to the range of hotels which travel agencies and corporations can book through the Amadeus system.”
