Amadeus makes Cuban hotels bookable
Amadeus agents will now have access to 70% of all Cuban hotels following a deal with the country’s ministry for tourism.
More than 200 hotels represented by the Gran Caribe, Cubanacan and Isla Azul chains will be available on the GDS.
Amadeus has also signed a deal to provide management and distribution technology to the hotel chains to improve internal processes and raise their profile.
They will use the GDS’ booking engine to distribute through their own sites so that rates and availability are updated in real time for consumers and companies as well as travel agents, whose negotiated rates will be built in.
General manager of Amadeus Hotel Business Group in Spain Phillipe Vignau said: “The incorporation of more than 200 properties from these three well-known Cuban chains adds value to Amadeus travel agents who can now book these hotels more easily.
“The solutions we will provide to these three chains will help to increase the efficiency and visibility of all their properties.
“This agreement is a clear example of how a client can take advantage of the synergies of the integration of our solutions for the hotel industry which cover the whole process, from showing the offering to the potential client until the client leaves the hotel, including the internal management of the property, occupancy analysis and forecasting.â€
