American Airlines adding Dallas flights to Tokyo Haneda
American Airlines will launch a new nonstop daily service from its Dallas hub to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport next year.
It makes American the only US carrier serving the route.
It starts March 29 next year ahead of the expected high demand for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Flights will be operated on three-class Boeing 777-300ER.
American is also adding a second daily flight on the Los Angeles-Tokyo Haneda route, which kicks off the same day.
"Haneda is just 10 miles outside of Tokyo’s city center, which is convenient for our customers traveling to business meetings downtown or for those who value access to fast and efficient public transportation," said Vasu Raja, vice president of network and schedule planning at American Airlines.
American’s agreement with Japan Airlines allows onward connections to key Japanese cities including Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka.
Rivals United Airlines and Delta Air Lines, also recently announced new services to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport after Japan released new daytime slots at Haneda for the US market.
