American Airlines rolls out customs ‘one stop security’ at DFW hub
American Airlines is making travel on connecting flights a little less stressful for UK fliers.
Travelers flying from the UK and connecting at American’s Dallas Fort Worth hub for onward flights can use the one-stop security process.
This enables connecting passengers to clear customs at the gate rather than a separate screening before the onward flight,
“One Stop Security is one of the most forward-thinking enhancements we can bring to international travel and importantly, to our customers,” said David Seymour, American’s COO.
“With this game-changing program and thanks to our federal CBP and TSA partners, our customers will spend significantly less time worrying about an onerous connection process.”
The pilot program could reduce connection times by more than half, the airline says.
To start, it is only for inbound flights from London Heathrow at DFW but hopes to add additional flights and US airports in the future.
