American Airlines shifting Beijing flights to new Daxing Airport
American Airlines is planning to resume flights to Beijing next spring but will shift to the city’s new airport.
It will restart Beijing flights from Dallas-Fort Worth on 27 March, 2021 from the new Beijing Daxing International Airport.
It is relocating from Beijing Capital International Airport in order to coordinate schedules better with codeshare partner China Southern Airlines.
American hasn’t flown to Beijing since suspending operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Moving to Daxing Airport is going to offer our customers access to a state-of-the-art airport, with ease of connections as we plan to codeshare with our strategic partner, China Southern," said Vasu Raja, American’s Chief Revenue Officer.
Reservations are now live on American’s website.
Flights will be operated on Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner jets.
Customers currently booked on flights to Beijing Capital will be contacted and re-accommodated on flights to the new airport when they begin.
