American-based cruise line steaming to Japan
Miami-based cruise operator Carnival Corp. plans to bring its Princess Cruises brand to Japan next year with an 87-day program that includes nine cruises on seven different itineraries.
The company said it expects to carry more than 18,000 passengers from April through July of next year, according to the AP.
The cruises will run from nine days to 12 days. They will depart from Yokohama and Kobe.
Prices start at $1,490 per person for a nine-day trip with double occupancy.
“Carnival is looking to capitalize on the growing Japanese cruise market with the launch of Carnival Japan Inc., which will sell the Princess Cruises brand and other Carnival brands in Japan,” said the AP.
