Amex unveils ‘going steady’ program
Travel buyers skip from one site to another and are often “commitment-phobic,” says American Express.
So the company has introduced a new set of features on its Web site that it says gives good reasons for consumers to stop playing the field and ‘go steady.”
The site has been redesigned for easier navigation and easy-to-use booking tools (developed by Travelocity), says Amex.
The site also offers customized booking tools for cruises and American Express Vacations packages, last minute specials and promotional offers.
“American Express Travel is implementing a series of enhancements to www.americanexpress.com/travel that will make the online experience as trustworthy and reliable as its offline service,” says an announcement from the company.
Said Lynne Biggar, senior vice president and general manager, American Express Consumer Travel Network USA:
“American Express Travel is evolving with our customers and the new site will offer them the convenience of 24-hour online access for their travel needs, backed by the reputation of one of the world’s largest and best known travel companies.
