UK chain Mint hotels is to open its first international property.

The company opens the doors at the Mint Hotel Amsterdam on April 29. The four-star hotel is on central Oosterdoksstraat, minutes from Dam Square. Rooms feature multi-media iMac systems and free wifi.

So far, Mint has confined itself to the UK with seven hotels operating but the company is eyeing Europe for its expansion plans.

Said  co-founder and chief executive David Orr: “Our expansion into Europe is a significant step for the group and Mint Hotel Amsterdam represents a new era for us.

“It is a great purpose built hotel in a superb location with fantastic views of Amsterdam’s harbour and old town. The hotel is meticulously designed, with floor to ceiling windows, soundproof walls and fresh air conditioning.”
