Another in-flight Ebola alert at Boston airport
Emergency workers in hazmat suits escorted five passengers displaying flu-like symptoms off an Emirates flight which arrived at Boston Logan airport.
Other passengers were held on board for nearly three hours while officials assessed the situation, reports the Boston Globe.
Two of the feverish passengers were transported to Boston Medical Center, said David Procopio, a State Police spokesman.
The other three passengers exhibiting flu-like symptoms did not appear to have a fever, but were still taken to Massachusetts General Hospital, he said.
Last night, the Boston Public Health Commission issued a statement saying there appeared to be no Ebola infection:
"After discussions with our partner hospitals Boston Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital, the Boston Public Health Commission’s Infectious Disease Bureau has determined that the patients who arrived on Emirates Flight 237 at Logan International Airport do not meet the criteria for any infections of public health concern, including Ebola, MERS, or meningococcal infection."
