Any Answers? The implications and benefits of CRS as Intelligent Agents

Friday, 01 May, 2002 0

I’ll appreciate any response, opinions and suggestions and help on what to include about my question for a dissertation. It concerns the CRS systems opportunity to become an intelligent agent which is a future formulation of today’s e-commerce. Its difference is the higher offering of products based on crm solutions and directly targeting the consumers, with interactive data and real time responds. This will bring impacts to the types of distribution channels like Travel Agencies and airlines, as well as a change in the way consumers will reach for a product. However there are some implications which are the consumers perception and use of internet, as well as competitive respond from other companies. So how possible is it to become an IA, and how successful will it be for a CRS?
Many Thanks

An intelligent agent is a future formulation of todays known e-commerce: “the buying and selling of information, products, and services via computer networks”. This definition has over time evolved to be extended with “the support for any kind of business transactions over a digital infrastructure”. This strategy of developing a e-commerce has become widely known and used method for many companies within the industry. One of its main objectives is to target directly to the customers and therefore achieve cost of saving (specially looking at the distribution point of view). Intelligent agents are linked with the internet considering all interactive media technologies. Thanks to the constant evolvement in technological issues it has the capability of utilizing intelligent prizing and offering every possible product within the industry.
