ARC reports strong agency sales
Travel agents last month had a 15% increase in sales over the previous year, ARC reported.
Sales had not reached last month’s numbers since 2000.
Last month’s sales were $8.3 billion compared to $7.2 billion a year ago.
The average weekly sales per agency location jumped 22% in March to a record $77,098.
The dollar volume for domestic fares jumped to $4.2 billion, while international fares hit $3.1 billion, which was another record.
Electronic tickets last month accounted for almost 90% of tickets sold.
