ARENA takes to the big stage
MELBOURNE – Travel Distribution Systems (TDS) has rolled out the full suite of ARENA following an intensive development period.
CEO Norman Collins said TDS has designed ARENA specifically for the travel and tourism Industry.
“Within the current major distribution systems, namely the GDS facilities, travel agents and non-airline suppliers have no say in system operations and development.
“They will have a say in the directions of ARENA, as we will encourage their input to ensure the system remains specific to requirements.â€
He added, “With free access to the system for suppliers and travel agents, ARENA will also enhance distribution to stimulate business and reduce operational costs during these tough economic times and beyond.â€
Collins said with travel agents being encouraged to become more innovative for business survival, ARENA would provide an efficient solution for agents to access a wider range of travel content through a single distribution system.
“By reducing distribution costs through an industry network, suppliers will be encouraged to maintain travel agents as the major distribution channels for all travel and tourism services.â€
ARENA will operate on a global basis and industry members can register at the company’s website www.tdsworld.com for free access to the system.
TDS is currently sending codes to registered companies for access to the full system.
Travel Distribution Systems is further supporting the industry as a sponsor of the upcoming National Travel Industry Awards.
