Asia Pacific expansion by FCm Travel Solutions
Japan and Korea have been added to travel management company FCm Travel Solutions’ global network.
The company is also finalising the takeover of a leading business travel agency in India and has opened a third office in China.
FCm’s parent company, Flight Centre, has taken a majority stake in Indian corporate travel business Friends Globe Travels. Flight Centre took a 51% stake in the company earlier this year and Friends Globe had commenced rebranding to FCm. Following regulatory approval from the Indian authorities, Flight Centre will acquire the remaining 49%.
Japanese firm Kinki Nippon Tourist Co, which has business travel offices in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, has signed with FCm Travel Solutions.
K-Travel Service Co in Korea has also joined the FCm network. Established in 1988, the company now has 15 offices countrywide.
In China, the company has added to its existing operations in Beijing and Shanghai with a new office in the southern city of Guangzhou. The move comes a year after FCm Travel Solutions launched within China’s rapidly growing corporate market.
FCm Travel Solutions executive general manager Anthony Grigson said: “China has emerged as a powerful global market that offers enormous development potential to our business. FCm Travel Solutions aims to establish a dominant position here.
“Together with our existing office in Hong Kong, we can provide a complete solution for our greater China clients who have a presence in all these major hubs.”
He added: “To have a well established organisation like Kinki Nippon Tourist Co as a network partner gives us a strong competitive advantage in Japan.
“We are also delighted to have on board a Korean company that has built a strong reputation in the market for almost 20 years. These companies can now offer their clients business travel solutions in over 50 countries, while other FCm Travel Solutions clients around the world can tap into local knowledge and expertise in these markets.”
