Facing stiff competition and a still sluggish economy, Atlantic City is turning to zany promotions as a cheap way to draw crowds, casino executives tell the Press of Atlantic City.
“The gaming industry is staging wacky promotions that would make P.T. Barnum proud,” says the newspaper.
Examples:
- Pickle-bobbing contests.
- A beat the ice block contest where contestants had to keep two body parts on the ice at all times to see who could last the longest.
- There’s also a “Chick Tac Toe” where contestants play the game with a “bimbo,” as well as a World Beer Pong Tour event with a $25,000 grand prize.
