British Airways has suspended services to Tokyo Haneda airport, citing lack of demand.
The carrier only introduced the service in February this year.
The Foreign Office is still advising against all but essential travel to areas north east of Tokyo following the dramatic earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan in March.
There is a continued risk of aftershocks and further tsunamis and last week the Japanese Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (NISA) announced that it had raised the provisional nuclear accident severity level at Fukushima nuclear plant from level five to level seven on the international nuclear event scale.
BA says it will keep demand “under review” for the destination and will continue with its daily service to and from Narita.
