BA extends suspension of short-haul ticket sales
British Airways has extended restrictions on ticket sales for short-haul flights from Heathrow for least another week.
It had blocked sales for a week but this has been extended to 15 August.
“When Heathrow introduced its passenger cap, we took a small number of additional flights from our schedule. To continue to comply with the cap, we’ve been taking responsible action by limiting sales,” a British Airways spokesperson said.
“We’ll continue to manage bookings to be within the Heathrow imposed cap so we can get our customers away as planned this summer.”
It is due to the daily cap on passenger numbers imposed by Heathrow this summer.
The cap is set to continue for another month.
Short staffing has led to flight disruption for weeks across the industry.
Heathrow says the daily cap on passenger numbers is ‘resulting in better, more reliable journeys for passengers.’
