BA launches reduced fare for Cyprus Airways passengers
British Airways is offering a reduced ‘repatriation’ fare to passengers of Cyprus Airways, which abruptly ceased flying last week.
Any passengers holding valid Cyprus Airways tickets for travel until the end of January can apply for the special BA fare of £75 one way.
The Cypriot government has already stated that it will pick up the cost of new flights for any pasengers holding Cyprus Airways tickets, but flights up to February 9 must be rebooked via a Cypriot travel agency. It said it will make a statement later about flights from February 10.
Cyprus Airways suspended all operations last week after it was ordered to repay millions of euros of state funding.
BA’s special fares, which have not ben made public, are not available via travel agents or ba.com and can only be booked via a British Airways call centre or at an airport ticket desk at Larnaca, Heathrow or Gatwick airports.
