BA offers Mondial cover to passengers
British Airways has signed a deal with insurance specialist Mondial Assistance to offer customers the company’s cover during the online booking process.
The deal means passengers booking tickets on ba.com will be offered an “opt-in†step as they purchase tickets.
The three-year agreement will operate in 18 different markets and will be a first in countries such as Bulgaria, Romania and Cyprus where services like Mondial’s do not exist.
BA’s bid to boost its ancillary revenue services comes at a time when rocketing fuel prices are straining all but the most robust business models.
BA contracts manager Keith Vipan said: “Through this partnership, we will be able to enhance the British Airways passenger experience and in addition, open up a new revenue stream revenue for the airline.â€
