Barrhead Travel reports sales growth for 2018
Barrhead Travel says its bookings for summer 2018 are up 21% year-on-year, with cruise holidays doing particularly well.
Summer 2018 cruise bookings are up by 23% and winter 2017/18 cruise bookings are up 27%.
Top summer destinations include Orlando, Cancun and Dubai.
While bookings for the upcoming summer season saw traditional destinations such as Tenerife and Majorca remain popular, Barrhead Travel also reports increases on some ‘rising star’ destinations.
Asia is continuing to grow in popularity, with bookings to Japan up 139%, Vietnam up 111% and China up 75%.
CEO Sharon Munro said: "Holidays remain a priority for many families across the country. Now more than ever, holidaymakers are returning to their trusted high street travel agent to ensure they get the best possible value for money and to guarantee financial protection."
