Belmond names global development SVP

Luxury travel company Belmond has named Kenneth Hatton as new senior vice president for global development.
 
Hatton joins Belmond from Hyatt International and officially takes over on January 23.
 
He brings to the table 18 years’ experience in mergers & acquisitions in the global hotel industry.
 
Since 2011 he held the position of Hyatt’s senior vice president, corporate transactions group, overseeing Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
 
To date Hatton has worked on transactions involving about 300 hotels.
 
 "We are thrilled to have Kenneth join us to take the lead of our global development team. Kenneth’s experience in negotiating acquisitions, management, and franchise agreements in many markets will be a tremendous asset to Belmond as we look to implement our strategic plan to double the size of the company’s footprint by 2020," said Belmond CEO Roeland Vos.
 
Additionally Irish national Hatton has held positions in Europe and the US.
 
"The Company has set out a bold plan to double its footprint, and I relish the opportunity of contributing to this exciting endeavour," Hatton said.
