Bike races head for Circuit of the Americas
Circuit of The Americas has joined the list of venues playing host to the Tour of Austin bike-racing weekend, set for August 31 to September 2.
The Circuit will host the first leg of this year’s three-day event by staging a criterium along its 3.4-mile racetrack – home to the Formula One US Grand Prix – on Saturday, August 31.
Austin, Texas-based Holland Racing, a cycling event production company, will manage the fifth annual event, which will benefit the Kelly Davidson Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
The USA Cycling-sanctioned race will see a national and international field, including current professionals and former Olympians.
In addition to the races, members of the public may register to participate in an open bicycle ride that will be held on Circuit of The Americas track as part of the criterium event.
