Bmi appoints new CE
Bmi has announced a replacement for its current chief executive, Austin Reid, who is leaving the company after 19 years.
His role will be taken by the current chief financial officer, Nigel Turner. He has been in that position since 2001 and will be replaced by Alan Bird, previously deputy finance director.
In a statement the bmi group said: “Austin is retiring from bmi for personal reasons a year earlier than he had originally planned.”
Another internal appointment is that of Tim Bye, currently legal director of bmi group, to become deputy chief executive.
