Booking Holdings CEO tests positive for coronavirus
In a note to employees Booking Holdings announced CEO Glenn Fogel tested positive for the covid-19 virus.
Fogel displayed mild symptoms and was subsequently tested on March 26, the company said.
He is continuing to perform duties as CEO, while Booking Holdings has put in place a succession plan as a contingency, including delegation of responsibilities if it becomes necessary.
Booking said Fogel hasn’t shown symptoms since March 28.
"I am very grateful to have such a mild set of symptoms for just a couple of days last week and can now say that I feel fine," Fogel said in a message to workers.
"I had been working from home for some time prior to my symptoms, so I believe there has been limited, or more probably, no exposure to other Booking Holdings employees," he added.
