Booster jabs being added to NHS pass
Travellers planning travel soon will get a boost in every sense.
Verification of booster shots and third doses will shortly be added to the NHS Covid Pass for international travel.
The app update could be completed by today.
"We want to make it as easy as possible for people to show their vaccine status if they are travelling abroad," said Health Secretary Sajid Javid.
"This update to the NHS Pass will mean people can have their complete medical picture at their fingertips if they are going on holiday."
Booster jabs will start displaying automatically in the app from today for people in England.
It will show up in the section for travel but is not being added for domestic purposes at the moment.
About 13 million people have received boosters so far, while the age for eligibility has been lowered to all people over 40.
It comes as Israel, Croatia, and Austria start placing a time limit on the validity of two-dose vaccinations.
Most people are required to wait six months since their second dose before getting a booster.
