Brett Godfrey says he recognises a good stunt when he sees one!
In an exclusive interview yesterday, The Mole asked Brett Godfrey, CEO of Virgin Blue what he thought of the banter and fare slashing going on between Jetstar and Tiger and he said that he was very happy to keep out if it.
He added, ” We all recognise a good stunt when we see one I am sure and I am happy to let them all jockey for position.”
“If they want to give seats away for a dollar then good luck to them.”
“At Virgin Blue we have moved away from being a pure LCC and while we still offer great value to our passengers, who are becoming increasingly loyal, we have grown our corporate and business travel markets and moved away from the price slashing and discounting.
He did say though, “We will do what it takes to remain competitive, but that also has to be in the context that we are currently enjoying a higher yield than ever before and doing very well indeed.
