British Travel Awards to support Thomas Cook children’s charity
The British Travel Awards will be working with Thomas Cook supporting its Variety Club Children’s Charity project, The Thomas Cook Children’s Critical Care Centre.
The British Travel Awards has previously supported the Just A Drop charity foundation in association with World Travel Market.
Awards event director Jeremy Symons said: “Just a Drop is an extremely worthy charity, and we are actually still supporting their efforts with the specially branded British Travel Awards bottles of water this year, with a percentage of the cost for each bottle going directly to Just A Drop.
“This is a great way of supporting the charity and at the same time providing our guests with the water they will expect on their tables. Hopefully, the bottles will also act as a visual reminder about what Just a Drop aims to provide to stricken communities across the globe – simple water.
“However, our main charity focus this year is the Thomas Cook Children’s Critical Care Centre at King’s College Hospital, and we are looking forward to helping Cook’s get closer to raising enough money to complete this fabulous project.â€
Thomas Cook’s charitable endeavours since 2006 have raised and contributed nearly £2 million to the project which brings together Paediatric Intensive Care and High Dependency Units within one new children’s critical care centre, opened in May.
The Thomas Cook Children’s Critical Care Centre offers state-of-the-art facilities for the treatment of children with liver and renal conditions or recovering from brain surgery, by facilitating continuity of care throughout their recovery in one child-focussed environment.
Fundraising continues until the end of this year. As well as being featured at the awards in Battersea on November 6, more information about the charity is available on the British Travel Awards website.
Online donations can be made to the Thomas Cook Children’s Critical Care Centre via www.britishtravelawards.com and clicking on the charity link.
