Brits happy to forfeit holidays, survey shows
Workaholic Brits are more anxious to get the job done and please their bosses than take their full holiday allowance, according to a Lastminute.com survey.
More than six out of ten workers said they would be prepared to forfeit their days off if it meant completing a job with a staggering 44% admitting to feeling guilty if they took their full holiday entitlement.
The online survey, which quizzed 2,000 people, revealed that 58% of UK workers still have ten days holiday or more to take by the end of the year.
Despite confirming our obsession with work, the study also showed that we still crave our two-week summer holiday with 92% saying they took a fortnight off.
And lounging in the sun was still top when it came to choosing a week-long break outside of the main two week summer holiday.
According to Lastminute, 35% said they wanted a beach holiday, with 28% choosing a long haul experience, 18% preferring to ski, 14% selecting a UK break and 5% choosing a cruise.
