Budapest Airport welcomes new Jet2 routes
Budapest Airport has hailed Jet2’s expansion to the Hungarian capital with two new routes from the UK.
From October Jet2 introducing twice-weekly Budapest flights from Newcastle and East Midlands.
These additions complement the airline’s existing routes from Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds Bradford.
It further strengthens the direct air connectivity between Hungary and the UK.
Budapest Airport is part of the VINCI Airports network, which manages the development and operation of more than 70 airports in 14 countries.
The East Midlands route sees competition from Ryanair’s existing twice-weekly service, while Newcastle is a brand-new connection after Jet2.com’s successful seasonal trials last winter.
It runs from October to April.
Máté Ritter, Head of Airline Development at Budapest Airport, said: “We are delighted to see Jet2.com expand its portfolio in Budapest. This expansion reflects the growing appeal of Budapest as a year-round destination.”
