Budget airline accused of ‘baby bigotry’
Indian airline IndiGo has introduced quiet zones on its aircraft from which children under 12 are banned.
The move has divided opinion on social media, with some praising the airline but others on Twitter accusing it of ‘baby bigotry’.
The carrier said the child-free zones had been introduced to give business travellers quiet areas where they can work.
They are in the first four rows of the aircraft and from rows 11 to 14.
Children under 12 won’t be seated in these rows. Youngsters are also banned from exit row seats for safety reasons.
IndiGo flies to 35 cities within India as well as to Bangkok, Dubai, Kathmandu, Muscat and Singapore.
