Business Traveller names best airline, hotel and car hire firm

Singapore Airlines has been named as the world’s best airline by readers of Business Traveller magazine.

 

The airline also won best business class and best economy class while Emirates Airline won best first class for the second consecutive year.

 

The awards, which were presented by former BBC news reporter Kate Adie OBE and comedienne Jenny Éclair, were voted for by readers of the magazine.

 

Virgin Atlantic won best premium economy class while British Airways was named Best Shorthaul Carrier and it won Best Frequent Flyer Programme.

 

EasyJet was named Best Lowcost Airline

 

Hilton Hotels and Resorts won both Best Business Hotel Chain Worldwide and Best Hotel Chain in the UK and Europe.

 

Marriott scooped the prize for the best business hotel chain in North America for the fifth consecutive year and Jumeirah was named as the best business hotel chain in the Middle East for the sixth year in a row while Shangri-La was named as the best in Asia for the 16th consecutive year.

 

Singapore‘s Changi Airport held on to the title of Best Airport in the World, a title it has never lost and Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport was the best in Europe. However, London Heathrow boasts the best tax-free shopping.

 

Avis won Best Car Rental Company Worldwide.
