Canadian Tourism Commission revamps Spotlight show
A new brand identity and a major consumer campaign are part of a range of high profile activity planned by the Canadian Tourism Commission.
A re-jig of the Canada training programme and a total revamp of the Spotlight Canada marketplace on March 13-14 are part of the changes.
The annual business to business event in London has been revitalised following industry feedback.
The event will be held at an award-winning venue – The Brewery – offering the opportunity to develop business with more than 100 Canadian tourism businesses, including new and niche suppliers.
A black tie gala awards event – The BACTA’s – with new awards up for grabs will be held as part of Spotlight.
As an added benefit for attending Spotlight Canada, each tour operator with an existing Canada programme will retain their comprehensive listing within the ‘Find a UK Tour Operator’ function on the www.canada.travel consumer website until the end of the year. I
A spokeswoman said: “If you are selling Canada you need to be listed on www.canada.travel – as all marketing activities are driving consumers to the website.
“In addition we are investing $1 million on a high-impact UK consumer campaign in 2007 to promote Canada. The call-to-action is www.canada.travel which has been re-skinned to incorporate our exciting new brand identity. Check out the new site that went live on January 15.
“What next? There are two tasks you need to complete by February 15: Register now for Spotlight Canada at www.spotlightcanada.co.uk. Download Entry forms to nominate your company for a BACTA through the same website.”
