Capita coup for Amadeus
Capita Business Travel has dropped Galileo and selected Amadeus as its technology partner in a “landmark” five-year deal.
The Derby-based travel management company will adopt several Amadeus solutions designed to bring about greater automation, streamlined processes and an enhanced online presence.
The move followed a thorough technology audit. Capita Business Travel wanted a GDS supplier that would provide it with the flexibility to integrate its chosen solutions for profile management and rail as well as its own bespoke hotel booking and meeting organisation tools.
Amadeus UK and Ireland managing director Stephane Durand said: “The Capita Business Travel signing is a landmark win for Amadeus, and a significant boost in our drive to break further into the business travel management market in the UK.
“Capita Business Travel is one of the UK’s leading TMCs, delivering a superior service including access to business solutions 24/7.
“Such an innovative and dynamic company with big plans for the future is the perfect partner for Amadeus.”
Already an existing Amadeus e-Travel Management client, the new agreement will see Capita implementing the latest version of the Amadeus Selling Platform to enhance efficiency and sales of both air and non air products, including the addition of Smart Tab integration for the rail booking system, Evolvi.
Purple Parking will also be integrated into the Selling Platform along with Capita Business Travel’s hotel management solution using Amadeus API.
Managing director Simone Buckley said: “After a thorough investigation into what all the main travel technology companies could offer Capita Business Travel, it became clear that Amadeus has a track record of IT leadership.
“Migrating mission-critical business applications is no small task for an organisation like Capita Business Travel, but we are confident that in selecting Amadeus, we have found the best technology partner to help us to achieve our ambitious goals for future growth.”
