Caravan Club snaps up tour operator
Tour operator and travel publisher, Mark Hammerton Group, has been acquired by The Caravan Club for an undisclosed sum.
The Caravan Club will run the business under the name The Alan Rogers Travel Group, as part of its existing travel services division.
It said the move will enable it to grow its Overseas Travel Service offering for members and to further strengthen its position.
Nick Lomas, director general of The Caravan Club, and now managing director of The Alan Rogers Travel Group, said the deal has "combined two market-leading brands".
The Alan Rogers Travel Group publishes guides, sells camping and caravan sites and ferry crossings and is the exclusive UK agent for Camping Cheque.
It also owns Belle France, a French tour operator offering walking and cycling holidays in rural France, a digital media company and has a Dutch office that sells media opportunities to individual campsites.
