Caribbean commissions for US agents

Wednesday, 15 Jan, 2003 0

Agents in the US can earn commissions when booking hotels, car rental, and attractions on the Caribbean marketing campaign website, gocaribbean.com.

The website was launched last year by the Caribbean Hotel Association Charitable Trust (CHACT), and offers ten percent commission on hotel and car rental bookings, and five percent on attraction bookings. Airfares, applicable taxes, service fees in packages, and customer coupons are non-commissionable.

CHACT chairman Ralph Taylor said: “Travel agents are leading distributors of travel products and services and we are pleased that they are part of the web-based component of this program.”

The website booking engine, inbound telesales, customer support and travel inventory is provided by Expedia’s Worldwide Travel Exchange. All members of the Caribbean Hotels Association can list inventory on the website, and agents are offered toll-free assistance on 1-888-724-6413.

A second commissionable website selling accommodation in the Caribbean was launched in November last year. It offers agents virtual tours of hotels and local attractions.
